Wallabi sailed for the Molyneux last night. The s.B. Wanganui sailed last night for her usual trip to the Bluff. The barque William Gifford will sail for Auckland the first S.W. wind. The p s. Samson arrived from Oamaru last night and passed up to Dunedin. The brig Fakeha sailed up to Dunedin this morning, where she will discharge her cargo of timber. The coasters Pioneer and Jane, for Shag Point, and Cambria, for Catlin’s River, are still at anchor in Carey Say. The topsail schooner Wanganui arrived early this morning from Havelock, and passed up to Dunedin. She brings a full cargo of timber. * The brig Thomas and Henry was towed down from Dunedin by the p.s. Golden Age, and moored alongside the railway pier to take in her cargo for Auckland, The brig Rio Loge, having been cleaned and punted, was taken out of the floating dock and her compasses adjusted to-day. She will be taken down to the lower anchorage to take on board powder for Lyttelton. The schooner Dunedin arrived this morning, and anchored-in Carey Bay. She brings a full cargo of 42,000 ft of timber from Hokitika, which port she left on the 4th, with a strong N.E. wind and heavy rain, which continued until the 6th. She came through the Straits the same afternoon with a westerly wind; thence had variables along the coast until catching the N.E. wind which brought her to the Heads, and she sailed up as above. The sohooner Tauranga also arrived from Hokitika this morning with a full cargo of 38,000 ft of timber, and sailed up to Dunedin. Captain Munroe reports leaving there on the evening of the 4th, with strong N.E. winds to the West Capo; had a S.W, wind through the Straits; and passed Dog Island on the evening oC the 7th; thence variable winds and calms till last night, when she got a fine breeze from the N- E. until arrival at the Heads, and sailed up as above.

The fine topsail schooner Lizzie Guy, belonging to the Westland Steam and Freight Company, arrived from Hokitika late last evening. She brings a full cargo of 6,000 ft of timber, and was towed up to Dunedin this morning by the p.s. Peninsula. Captain Pain reports leaving Hokitika on the Ist, had fine weather to Cape Farewell, and was detained in the Straits with a light easterly wind ; passed Campbell light at 8 p.m. on the sth, then light variable winds to Banks’ Peninsula, when she got a nice breeze from the N.E., which continued until arrival.

The Auckland schooner Excelsior arrived this morning from Kaipara, with a full .cargo of 61,000 ft of timbei-, and there being a fine breeze from tho N.E. she continued her course to Dunedin. Captain Joiner reports leaving Kaipara on the 27th of June, with a strong S.E. wind, which shortly afterwards shifted to the westward and carried her through the straits. The wind then increased, and she put into Wellington for shelter on the 3rd, where she remained until 6 p.m. on the sth. She then left with a moderate N.W. wind, which lasted u ntil_P as *ing Banks’ Peninsula, when she got a N.E. wind, which continued until arrival.
