THE OTAGO HARBOR BOARD.
There was a special meeting of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, at three o’clock this afternoon, for the purpose of electing two membe s ef the Otago Harbor Board. Mr P. C. Netll occupied the chair, and there was a good tendance of members. Th 6 Secretary (Mr Webb) a letter from the Supet mtendent, stating that he had received a telegram from the Colonial Secretary, to the effect that his Excellency the Governor had given his assent to the Otago Harbor Board Bill on the 29fch inst. It was decided that the election should be by ballot, and Mr Davie pointed out that the law did not render it imperative that the members elected should be members of the Chamber. blowing were nominated Messrs JR. Gillies, R. B. Martin, George Turnbull, Tewsley, and H. M‘Neil. A ballot was tuen taken, and the result was the election of Messrs M‘Neil and tewstey. At the < ity Council meeting for the same purpose Messrs Reeves and Ramsay were elected.
