NEW WIMBLEDON REGULATIONS.
The ‘ Illustrated London News/ of March 28, contains the following modifications in the rules for prize firing: The targets for the future will he .oh the bwiss system—a circle of 40in diameter at 20 & I? circle ef 70in 8t 500 and 600 yds : at 800, 90 », and I,oooyds, and at 400 yds for volley bring, 6ft by I2ft. The divisions on the face of the target shall be At 20Jyds, bull s-eye circular, Bin in diameter ; centre circular, 16in; inner circular, 28in; and outer circular, 401 a. At 600 and 600 yds hey range from 22iu in the buU’sWe ciruular to 70iu in the outer circular. At the long ranges-800, 900, and 1,000 yardsthe bulls eye will be 3ft circular; the centre, 4ft 6m circular; the inner, 6ft square; and the outer on the remainder of tue target. At 400 yds volley the bull’s-eye shall be 2ft wide across the target; centre. Ift above and Ift below bull’s-eye; and oater on the remainder of the target. In all oases the bull’s-eye shall count as 4; centre, 3 ; inner, 2; and outer, 1. The size of the carton targets shall be :-At 200 yds. 4()in in diameter ; at 500 yds, 601n,; at 600 yds, 70m ;.and at 800 yds, 70in. The size of the carton is to remain the same as last year. P erceived that an inner has been added to the mode of scoring, thus taking the plaee of the outer, which now counts only one. In individual shooting, ties shall be shot ott, except where money prizes of equal value shall be at stake, when the tieing competitors will be bracketed as equal. The register-keeper in charge of the tie-shooting may (according to instructions) call upon any competitor there and then to tire a second, and even • third shot. In squad or match sheotmg, if for a money prize, the tie will be decided by division ; if for a prize m kind, by the aggregate scores made at the longest distance in the competition ; if still a tie. by the fewest outers; and, if still a ti«, by the competitors on each side who have made the highest scores in the competition firing five rounds at the longest diskanCj- •J* B P* cul cases ties will be decided oy dividing the prizes am by the fewest outers ; m volley- tiring by division, by the fewest outers, and by the fewest misses; if still a tie, by awarding the prize to be held tor equal periods of the year by the sue cessful battalions.
