a n j Auckland, June 20. A Maori called Jeremiah Bob, who killed a Maori Who had had intercourse with his wife at Mangatoa, came to town to-day to deliver himself up to the authorities. It is supposed the Governor s visit North had some influence in aiding the Natives to insist upon the murderer coming to Auckland. . ~ June 22. Another attempt at incendiarism was dis covered on Saturday night. A quantity burning rags, saturated with kerosene, was found under the Catholic Institute Hall, in Velhngton street. A soldier’s coat among the material, which was not burning, prevented the success of the attempt. The building is in the centre of a wooden block.
