Dr Ca.hr gare the first of his series of S4akces at the Canterbury Music Hall last evenmg. The hall was blied to suffocation in every part, and the audience, judging from the frequency of their applause and laugh, ter, seemed to appreciate the entertainment. In the mesmeric portion of his entertainment, Dr Carr evinced an extraordinary influence over those affected by it, and the audience rewarded his undoubted success withvociferousapplause.— Lyttelton‘Times.’ December 27. Dr < arr’s Sbancbs.—The Phreno Mesmeric Stances of Dr Carr appear to be increasing in popularity, judging from the large and fashionable audience which last evening filled the Odd Fellows’ Hall, when the twelfth Stance was given. The Phrenological delineations of character (some of which were from the heads of well-known citizens), elicited the loud applause of the audience, who evidently appreciated their truthfulness. The Mesmeric experiments were equally successful, many of them bordenng on the marvellous, and indicating the high degree of power possessed by the Mesmerist over his subject.—* Press,’ January DANCING CLASSES.
