Friday, Juste 12. (Before Captain Thomson and Djr Drysdale J.P.’s) Disobedience op Orders,—J. M‘Kay and D. M‘V ain were charged by Captain Smith, of the City of Tanjore, with refusing to obey his lawful commands on the. 12th. instant. Ihe man being willing to return to their wqrk, Captain Smith withdrew the charges. Wrongful Dismissal. George Plough charged Charley Linklater, captain of the brig i mily, wth neglecting tq pay him the sum of L 5 I3s fid for wages due to him for services rendered as pooh and steward of the brig. Mr Mansfotd, who appeared for the defendant, pleaded not guilty. George Plough said he was engaged in Sydney as cook of the brig Emily, on the 19th of April, and commenced work on the 2l)th. There were no complaints until the 28th of May, when the captain called him into the cabin and read over the log book to him, referring to something which had happened fourteen days previously, and then told witness he was knocked off duty, and was not wanted any more. Witness had been forty days in the brig, and had received the sum of L 3 10a. The case was adjourned till this morning to allow the plaintiff to call wit nesses. Saturday, June 13. (Before Captaip Thomson and Dr. Drysdale, j.P.’so The case of Plough v. Charles Linklater was continued this morning, and judgment was given for 11 19s 2d, amount paid into Court ; plaintiff to pay costs. Illegal y on* Premises —Mary Edie, for being illegally in the office of the Harbor and Customs Department, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.
