Expenditure during the same period, L 316,390, leaving a credit balance on May 31 of L 649,986. The estimated receipts for the nine months ending March 31, 1875, were L 512.579, making, with the balance in hand, a total revenue of L 1,170,308. The estimated expenditure for the same period is L 1,113,412. The proposed expenditure on buddings, including L 46.976 for district schools, LIO.OGO for normal schools, and L 14.540 for public buildings, is L 123,004. The proposed expenditure on bridges is L 108,081; ditto on roads, L 51,874. The proposed miscellaneous expenditure, including L 6,400 for irrigation of plains and water supply, ig-Lyttelton, L 5.000 fOr planting, and L 8.496 for public library s ; for country districts, L 86,153. The proposed expenditure on railways is L 196,002. Theproposed expenditure on grants in aid is L 5,165. The Council has recommended the Superintendent to place a sum on the Estimates for continuing the geological survey of the Province’. • Napier, June 11, A motion for sending the Estimates to a Select Committee to revise was thrown out et night in the Provincial Council by 15 to 2.
