THE REGATTA.
To tlie Editor. Sir,—Are we ever going to see this much-talked-of regatta? I really am afraid that we are not. Money was collected for prizes, a day fixed, and every preparation made ; and because the day unfortunately turned out wet and stormy, the committee seem incapable of naming another day. Surely the majority can over-rule the few obstructionists) who impede the harmonious working of ‘the committee 1 . Why should hot the regatta be held next Saturday ? 1 assure you, ■ir, that one of the reasons for not holding the regatta on 1 a Saturday, given by one of the committee, was that the last- train from Port arrived in Dunedin half-an-hour after the dinner-hour of said committee-man ! I subscribed for a regatta to be held on the Queen’s Birth-day, or so soon afterwards as the weather-permitted, and 1 call'upon the PPffWittee to keep faith with me.—l aft, ,; „ o. r. c.
