THE IMMIGRANTS.
At Oam aru, up to Monday, there had been engaged all the single girls (3), single men (21), and six of the married couples. Wages as e follows :-Single girls, L 35 ; single men, ' 55, and found ; married couples, without encumbrance, LIOO to LUO; boys, 10s to 15s a week, and found. There remain in the barracks eight married couples with families. Most of the men have found employment in the town, but house accommodation is not to be had. At Invercargill {according to the limes ’) there dqes not appear to be a great demand for the immigrants lately sent down there. The Barracks were open for their engagement on Saturday last, but on that day only four found situations.
