The steamer Wellington sailed last night for the North. The schooner Cambria, from Catlin’s River, beat up the harbor this morning. The barque Free Trader is still lying aground at the entrance of the Cross Channel. There was a barque seen to the north of the Heads yesterday afternoon, but has not yet been signalled. The yacht Jessie Nichol was taken out of the floating dock to-day, and the brigantine Kate Brain was taken in. On account of the heavy S.W. winds last night the steamers Wanganui and,- Wallabi for the Bluff did not sail. Yesterday the s.s, Jane took in tow the brigantine Seagull to bring her to Dunedin, but on account of the heavy S.W. gale had to leave her this side of the islands. The ship Buckinghamshire, eighty-one days from London, is at the Heads. She reports all well; but the tug was not able to bring her up on account of the heavy weather. The ship Janet Court ran up her numbers at the Heads on Tuesday night, and stood out to sea; but, on account of the heavy S.W. wind, she has not made the Heads yet. Yesterday afternoon the brigantine Swordfish was sailing down from Dunedin when, getting below the islands, she ran on the bank. The p.s. Peninsula was engaged to tow her off last night, but did not succeed at high water. Another attempt will be made at the top of the tide this afternoon. Yesterday afternoon the Geelong towed up the brig Isabella, from Newcastle. Captain Greenwood reports leaving Newcastle on the sth: had N.W. winds until the Bth ; made the S.W. Cape on the 22nd at daylight, passed the Nuggets with a strong S.W. wind at daylight on the 24tb, and made the Heads on Sunday night, where she came to an anchor. She brings a cargo of coaL Captain Greenwood reports speaking the ship Janet Court on Tuesday evening. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland.—Huntley Castle, from London, with no immigrants, Napier, May 28.—The City of Adelaide left Napier at one o’clock this morning for Wellington. Wellington, May 28.—A ship is signalled as coming into the harbor. She is supposed to be the Inverraallen, for Wellington and Nelson, with immigrants.
