THE LATE BOAT ACCIDENT.
To the Editor. Sir,--Subscriptiou list a are at all the banks tor the charitable contributions of the public towards a fund for recovering and burying the bodies of the unfortunate men drowned on Monday last; for immediate relief oi the widows, and, should there be a surplus, for the widows' benefit. A good sum was raised yesterday, Mea-ra Brown, ttwmg, and Co., hearting a list with ten guineas and other firms subscribed liberally, lhe sum of L 5 has been handed over to each of the widows, both of whom are entirely without money. ?.:r woddfried, one of the survivors, attended the committee meeting last evening, ana stated that he had u.eJ, and would sti 1 use every effort to recover the bodies. Lhe police too are doing their utmost for the same purpose. in a few days the subscription will be a *vertizdd, and a handsome total is anticipated, lhe committee will meet on Friday evening, at the Hibernian Hotel.
