PORT CHALMERS REGATTA.
The Sub-committee met at the Provincial Hotel, Port Chalmers, last night, for the purpose of receiving entries for the different events.. The programme comprises thirteen races, but thetg \yere entries for only six of them, as follows Ist Race-Seine Fishing Boats—lnnee’s Flsrfc, M‘Donald’s Christina, Kerr’s Hose. 3rd Race—Ships’ Gigs—Dallam Tower, Undine, William Davie, Scimitar. sth Race—Champion Four-oared—Pioneer. Bth Race—Boys’ Four-oared Pioneer. Scimitar, William Davie. 10th Race—Pair-oared— Pioneer. 11th Rage—Scdljer^’—Water’s Petrel. The Committse decided to add to the programme a sailing race for ships' boats, and that the entries for each race be left open till an hour before starting. The subscriptions amount to L 66 18s, and the entrancemoney received 9s 6d. The Scimitar has been placed at the disposal of the Committee, and will be moored off the railway pier as a flag-ship. The surplus funds will be devoted to the establishment of a Sailors’ Home.
