WASTE LAND BOARD.

The usual weekly meeting of the Board was held to-rtay. Present : The Chief Commissioner, Messrs Bastings, Butterworth, Clark, Donald Reid, and Strode. Mr Hams, for Mr Wm Edmonds, applied for a Crown Grant for section 32, block 2, North Harbor and Blueskin districts. R 3 - ferred to the Chief Commissioner for investigation, Mr I. N. Watt, for Messrs Daniel Ellison, Thomas Pratt, and others, applied for a lease, under clause 161, of the peninsula at Waikouaiti, for a whaling station, and for pastoral purposes. Referred to the ranger to report on. Mr Walter Miller applied to purchase 345 acres on block 6, Waitahuna East, under section 40 of the Act. Referred to the district laud officer, he to give notice to persons who have already applied for the same land under agricultural leases, that this application has been put in, and to hear if they have any objection to its being granted. The consideration of Mr Logan’s case, as submitted by Messrs Connell and Moodie for the opinion of the Attorney-General, was adjourned.
