RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT, PORT CHALMERS.
Saturday, May 2. (Before Drs. JJrysdale and O’Donoghue. J.P.’s) 6 Assault.—Edward Norwood, seaman was charged with assaulting Alfred Butcher chief officer of the ship Undine.—After taking evidence, the Bench ordered the pri soner to enter into his own recognizance for LlO to keep the peace for three months. Threatening Language.—Daniel Peirdon and Thomas Burns, also of the Undine, appeared in answer to a charge of using threatening language towards the previous complainant. The evidence being against them, they were served in the same manner as Norwood.
