To Andrew Merger, Esq,, Mayor op Dunedin, DEAR SIR,—We, the undersigned Ratepayers, desire respectfully to ask you to convene a public meeting of the Citizens at an early date, in order to consider : Firstly,—The necessity of petitioning Parliament to curtail aud limit the compulsory rating powers, &0., of the Dunedin Waterworks Company; also, for taking steps to prevent the Company from obtaining any further powers, as sought by the private Bill which at the present time the Company is promoting, and purposes shall be passed at the ensuing Session of the General Assembly of New Zealand.
