TIMARCT MEETING. There was a large attendance for these races. The weather was fine. The first race, the Hurdles, had an entry of fire, but of these only three came to the post. Alice Grey was the favorite, and won easily in the end, Ivanh e running round the fifth hurdle. The Maiden Plate was a gift to Theodore. The Timaru Cup was a failure. Everybody expected a good race, but old Tam had it all his own way, and won in a canter, Templeton being out of it all through. After some delay at the post, Exile, attended by Th odore. led down the straight. Madras and No Gentleman. lying off. After hilf-a*mile Madras crept wp and passed Theo lore, bat could not reach Exile, who won in a canter; Theodore beating No Gentleman by a neck for third, New-ohum nowhere.
