Port Chalmers, April 15. Ihe City of Dublin brings no passengers.
• Th. tt ~ ~ Wellington, April 14. Ike Hutt Railway was opened for traffic this morning at eight o’clock, without a demonstration of any kind. There were about twenty passengers in the first train. The Provincial lands sold during March were 11,885 acres, for which L 5,014 was received in cash, and 1/1,200 in scrip. The Wellington J pekey Club will make known e J^ rou sbout the Colony the conditions of the Wellington Derby Stakes to be run for m December, and annually in future.
m. -p. , Auckland, April 14. the ship Dorette has arrived from London after a passage of eigty-three days from Gravesend. She brings 251 Government immigrants, consisting of 104 single men, 100 married couples, and thirty nine single women. The Dorette was placed in quarantine, as several cases of scarlet fever were reported. The last case was ten days ago. No deaths occurred from fever, and the immigrants generally are in good health. She will probably be admitted to pratique to-morrow.
m , , , Invercargill, April 14. -two Hundred and thirty-seven nominations for immigrants were sent by the Suez mail tins month. Since the 20th of October last, when free nominations commenced, 2,658 nommations have been sent from the Invercargill office.
, Auckland, April 15. 1 here is little doubt Sullivan has left Auckland, but the authorities keep bis destination a strict secret. The report that ho has left for England originated from the fact that his passage was taken by the Hiudostan, but learning the character of the passenger, the agents returned his passage money.
