Communication would then be continued northwards through New South Wales and Queensland to Normantown, and thence by submarine cable to Singapore and Moulmein. The Governments of New Zealand and Queensland have already obtained Parliamentary sanction to act conjointly with New South Wales in the matter and it is understood that the New South Wales Government will ask Parliament for similar authority in the course of a few days.
