Large sales of brandies have taken place; Hennessy’s case at 28s 9d. A private London telegram reports a further rise in brandies. Sugars are in good demand, and large operations are pending. The latest Mauritius dates state that the Hopeful has been chartered for Dunedin, and the Kinchalds for Christchurch, at 40s, Speculative sales of candles continue, and several thousand boxes have been sold.
