Disobedience pF Commands.— John Gib son, John Farr, - William "Gee, and James Irvine, seamen on board the schooner Elderslee, were charged by Captain Cowan with : combining to disobey, laiyful commands. Mi .Mansford appeared for the defendants, and pleaded not guilty; Mr Johnston for the complainant.—Mr Mansford contended that i the information was bad; in charging the men I jointly. Each should be charged separately . tinifc, because the four could not be charged [with, combining together ,to disqbey; and j it would deprive him of ;tbe opportunity" of calling any one of 'hem as 1 wit' messes. He held that the objection was fatal, and asked that the case be dismissed, i Mr JohnstOn atgiled that the information I was good, and would not object to Mr Mans ford taking one of the men as a witness, if ht , desired. -Mr Mansford would not do so, and : the Bench then dismissed the information.
