THE DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB.

AUTUMN MEETING;

Third Day.

In concluding bur report of the racing on the final day of the meeting we congratulate the publjo, the, -stewards,’ and all connected with it on tho’great success which has characterised it from beginning to end. The rain on the last day spoilt ; the attendance a litt'e, but those who did venture to go to the course had perhaps better sport than on either the first or second day. . The Steeplechase, contrary to expectation, was a great success ; and Templeton, who had rather fallen m public estimation, created, great enthusiasm by coining in a rather easy winner in the Forbury arid Flying Handicaps. 1 His owner was almost overwhelmed with congratulations, especially as what appears to, have been a rather trivial protest; had been lodged against hie colt in thefitet of the two races. Thdra was another walk-ovfer for Mr Redwod, in the Town Plate ; arid great surprise was exhibited at the poor show'; Calumny made in the Fbrbury Handicap.. The Consolation Handicap entries showed what stamp of horses had competed during the meeting, for amongst them were Tambuurini, Farawhenua, Gossip, Earl of Lynne,! Atlas,-and the Revoke colt—all of Which had been unable to score a win on any of the three days. We heartily express our thanks to Mr R. H. Baily, who acted as timekeeper; Mr Sydney James, Secretary to the club ; and the other officials and, the stewards generally, for the courtesy and readiness with w'hich they supplied us wich information.
