WASTE LAND BOARD.
Ihe usual meeting of the Board was hold to-day, Present—Messrs Strode, Butterworth, Thomson, Bastings, Clark, and Reid, Messrs Connell and Moodie, on behalf of Messrs Guthrie and Larnach, applied for a saw mill license for the Gatlin's River district, without prejudice, to. their right to appeal against the decision of the Board oil their implication heard at the last meeting. The application was received as on Ist April. Messrs Connell and Moodie applied on behalf of Mr Macfarlaue for one week’s extension of the time for the consideration of. his application for a saw-mill license on block 11, Glenkenich district. The application was granted. Messrs Connell and Moodie applied lonbehalf of Mr John Perry for a saw-mill license oyer block 8, , Glenkenich district. The application was received as on Ist' April. . , Messrs Connell and Moodie applied to have Mr J. Rodgers heard in reply to db- 1 jections made by Mr Howat, to the granting of his application for 30 acres of land im the Glenkenich district. The application was agreed to, and Mr Rodgers was heard' m reply. Eventually the Board decided to ; adhere to the original application grautihe only JO acres instead of 30. The Board considered Mr Phillips’s application for a coal lease on section 17, block 2, Leaning Rock district. Mr E. Cook appeared m support of the application. The District' Land Officer was present, and recommended mat the application should bo declined. The recommendation was adopted. A notice of appeal was received from Messrs Oakdeu aud Brown, of Oamaru, and the Hon. R. Campbell against the decision of the Board of 26th February last. The appeal was noted. The District Officer, Mrßeefcham, reported as to Mr Robertson's application to purchase three acres of land at the One-mile Creek, Queenstown, for a woollen factory. The aoUcation was refused. *
Mr G. F. Richardson applied for a copy of Ranger Hugban’s letter on the management of the Too-toes Hundred. Mr Brown replied that the letter in question was open to the applicant’s personal inspection at the Land Office, in terms of Waste Laud Act. '
Mr J. 6. Richardson; requested thattbe bye-laws of the Too-toes 'Hundred might be passed by the Board. The Board approved of the regulations, and ordered them to ; be published. .‘j. ,<v, •
The following applications for exchange of agricultural leases under the Goldfields Act for leases, and the Waste Lands Act, 1872, were considered :—Griffith Thompson and W. M‘Bruce, section 10, block 2, Tiger Hill district; Griffith Thompson and W. M‘Bruce, section 16, block 2, Tiger Hill district.- Application postponed for the approval of the Government.
Mr Beetham forwarded applications for sections in the Dart District, upon which survey fees had not'been paid. The application was noted.
Mr J. Hughes' applied to purchase: the freehold of his Agricultural lease—sections 65 ahd 66, block 1, Waitahilha district. The application was granted.
