Drunkenness. Edward Hughes; Ed- ! ward M‘ Donald, John Kane, John Brennan, and Alexander Smith were each fined 5a, 1 with the option of imprisonment. ■ .Larceny.—Samuel Haynes, a young lad,: was charged on remand with having, 1 at Oaversham, ou the 12bh March, stolen the sum of 9s, the property of his employer, Wm. Muir, cab-proprietor. Prisoner said, that he received 9s from his master 1 fdr change, and that ho kept it. He had been working with Muir for three days; but did' not receive any wages.—Sub-Inspector Mallard stated that, from inquiries made, he; found that prisoner’s character had been! good. He was apprehended on Sunday, anil had been in gaol ever since. Prisoner begged to bo dealt leniently with. He had; been in the Colony two years, having come! out in the Charlotte Gladstone, and'this was the first time be had been in trouble.—!Jia worship, after lecturing the lad at considerable length, discharged him with a caution.
