To the Editor. Sir, —It is satisfactory to observe that a number of our importers ond wholesale merchants appear to have made up their minds to abandon the sale of grog, as they have not given the^.notice pf j application for certificates for licenses' required by the new Licensing Act of 1873. 1 hope they have seen the baneful results of the liquor trade, and have relinquished it on principle.—■ Yours, &c.,
