The amount of revenue received at the Ou* Com-honse oh goods cleared for consumptioi this day, was 1.608 10s sd. Prices in the general market have not varied greatly during the week. Transactions, in the absence, of speculative demand, have been limited, few country buyers having been in town, most probably having deferred their visits in prospect of next week’s races. The first of the season’s new rice arrived by the Otago. The samples are good, and parcels are offering at L3O per ton, but we have not heard of sales having been made. Spirits continue steady. Geneva JDKZ, 13s 9d to 14s. A shipment of Hennessy’s brandy, landing, sold at 30s; bulk realises* 9s 6d. The Wild Deer brought a parcel of Tennant’s bottled ale, which is selling at 13s, duty paid. Kerosene is in .good supply, and commands Is 10d; candles, 10|d to lid. Butter continues in demand, and prime cheeses are held for 64d. Sugar and oilmen’s stores fetch last week’s quotations.
