The highest aggregate scorer in the four cavalry matches now decided is the champion cavalry shot for the year. He is Barreball, of Waiuku (Auckland)—the district that furnished last year’s champion. The scores were:— Barreball (Waiuku) 130 Reid (Rangetiki) 126 Rogers (Waiuku) ... J26 Barreball, besides bolding the belt, gets a gold and silver medal and L2O ; Reid, because he made the highest scores in the last

match, second aggregate prize of LlO. The conditions of the cavalry marches differed from those of 1873 in that this yeartbe third match at 200 was seven shots, whereas in 1873 only five were allowed. Comparing the results, the highest scores in each match stand thus Ist 2nd 3rd 4th 1873 15 39 15 53 1874 24 39 22 50 Douglas last year took tbc belt with a score of 104; Cowan being second with 102. ‘ ’ 11*15 am. The Fifth Infantry Match, which will decide the championship, will not be fired till to-morrow.
