WRITTEN Tenders will be received at this Office up to noon on Monday, 30th March, 1874, for Plate-Laying and other works required to complete the Clutha Section e£ the Dunedin and Clutha Railway. They must be addressed to the Hon Minister for Public Works, Wellington, and marked outside, “Tenders for PlateLaying.” Plans and specifications may be seen at this office, and at the Public Works Office, Dunedin. Telegraphic Tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be.received, if presented at any Telegraph Office by Noon of the same date, provided that Written -Tenders in due form are lodged at a District or Resident Engineer’s office by the same hour. For the Construction of Brick Outfall Sewer and Branches at St. Andrew street; labor only. (Contract 601.) 2nd. For Carting Bricks and Supplying and Carting Sand .from Anderson’s Bay to St. Andrew street sewer. (Contract 602). 3rd. For Supplying and Delivering 400 Casks Portland Cement. (Contract 603). 4th. For Supplying and Delivering Log Timber, about 30,000 sup. feet, for embanking Water of Leith at Old Botanical Gardens. (Contract 604) 6th. For Forming and Metalling portion of Grange street, between Hanover and Frederick streets, Bell Ward. (Contract 605.) 6th. For Supplying Two Horses, Drays, and Drivers in order to remove rubbish and refuse from private dwell-ing-hcu6es and places of business throughout the City for a peiod ef six months. (Contract 606.) Plans and specifications may he seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin. WAIPORI ROAD DISTRICT. TENDERS will be received until Friday, the 20th instant, for various Road Works in the above District, consisting of Roads formation, ditching, &c. CORPORATION NOTICES. CITY OF DUNEDIN. PUBLIC NOTICE is- hereby given, that the assessment of all buildings, lands, tenements, and hereditaments within the City of Dunedin (as authorised by the Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865, and the Otago.,Municipal Corporations Ordnance Amendment Ordinance, 1872) for the year ending December 31st, 1874, according to the full, fair, and estimated annual rent at which the same might | reasonably be expected to let from year to year, free of all usual tenant’s rates and taxes, and deducting therefrom the probable average annual cost of the repairs, insurance, and other expenses (if any) necessary to maintain the same in a state to command such rent has been duly made. .Notice is further given that the said assessment having, on the fourth day of March, 1874, been allowed by the Council of the said City, is now deposited, and may be duly inspected at the Town Clerk’s Office, in Manse street, in the said City, between the hours of 10 a m. and 4 p.m., by any person interested therein.' And notice is further given that any appeals against the said assessment may be lodged at the City Council Chambers, Manse street (where blank forms may be bad), on or before the 24th day of March instant; also, that a copy of each notice of appeal is required bjr law to be served not later than the 24th instant upon any person whose name it may be proposed to insert in the assessment, or whose property it may be alleged has been omitted therefrom, or assessed below its full, fair, and annual value. A copy of each notice of appeal is also re quired to be delivered by the appellant to the Clerk of the .Resident Magistrate’s i Ourt Dunedin, on or before the 24th March inst.’ aforesaid. ’’ Tth March, 1874 J.
