The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption this day, wan L 2,073 10s 6d. Messrs M'Landress, Hepburn, and Co., held • sale at their rooms this afternoon, of freehold City and other properties, belonging to Mr Tutehen, who is about to leave the Province and engage in sheep farming at Hawke’s Bay. The attendance was not large, but most of those present seemed disposed to buy. The plan of fixing an upset price is a very good one, and saves the auctioneer much time, and intending purchasers a good deal of trouble. The following were the pricesrealisedHalf of section I, block 26, George street, 33ft frontage and 165 ft depth, with houses, upset price L4OO, sold for L 460 to Mr Wright; half of same section, with building, upset price L3OO, sold for L 390 to Mr Wright; half of section 5, block 24, 33ft frontage to George street, with % depth of 165 ft, and building, upset price L 350, sold for L4lO to Mr Wright; half of same section, with sixroomed house and another building, upset price or LSOO to Mr Wright; section 54, block 31, 66ft frontage to George street, with depth of 165 ft, and six-roomed house, L 585 (upset price L 550, Mr Martin); section 55, adjoining the last mentioned, with two cottages, L 615 (upset price L 600), Mr Martin; section IS, blo°k 37, with a frontage to Clyde street of 66ft, by a depth of 165 ft, not built upon, L 165 (upset price L 150) Mr Wright; section 12, block 37, 66ft frontage to Leith street, by a depth of 165 ft, with five-roomed house, &c., L 470 (upset price L 450) Mr Wright; section 12, Wuhamstown, Maori Hill, with two-roomed “juse and garden, at the upset price of Ll2O, Mr Wright; three sections at Waihola, L2l (upset price at Lls), Mr Kerr.
