PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given, that the assessment of all buildings, lands, tenements, and hereditaments within the City of Dunedin (as authorised by the Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865, and the Otago Municipal Corporations Ordnance Amendment Ordinance, for the year ending December 31st! 18/4, according to the full, fair, and estimated annual rent at which the same might reasonably be expected to let from year to year, free of all usual tenant’s rates and taxes, and deducting therefrom the probable average annual cost of the iv.pairs, insurance, and other expenses (if any) necessary to maintain the same in a state to command such rent has been duly made. Notice is further given that the said assessment having, on the fourth day of March, 1874, been allowed by the Council of the t aid City, is now’ deposited, and may be duly inspected'at the Town Clerk’s Office, in ;V anse street, in the said City, between the hours of 10 a m. and 4 p.m., by any person interested therein. And notice is further given that any appeals against the said assessment may be lodged at the City Council Chambers, Manse street (w'here blank forma may be had), on or before the 24th day of March instant; also, that a copy of each notice of appeal is required by law to be served not later than the 24fch instant upon any person whose name io may be proposed to insert in the assessment, or whose property it may be alleged has been omitted therefrom, or assessed below its full, fair, and annual value. A copy of each notice of appeal is also required to be delivered by tbe appellant to the Clerk of the Resident Magistrate’s Court Dunedin, on or before the 24th March inst’ aforesaid. 7th March, 1874.
