The barque Kassa, from the Mauritius, was towed up to Dunedin, this morning, by the Geelong. The steamer Mongol, with the San Fran cisco mail on board, got under weigh about 5 p.m. yesterday. The s.s. Jane returned last night, with a caigo of coal, from Shag Point, and steamed up to Dunedin this morning. The steamers Omeo for Newcastle, via West Coast and Northern Ports, and Rangatira for the North, sailed last night. The s.s. Wallabi returned at 10 p.m. yesterday from Kakanui, with 278 bales of wool, for transhipment to the City of Dunedin. The steamer Lady of the Lake arrived yesterday afternoon from Moeraki, and steamed alongside the ship Margaret Galbraith to discharge cargo.

THE SILVER LINING.

The wreck of the above unfortunate brig was Bold yesterday for LSO, A survey was held on her on the 9th instant, by Captain Leys, of the Wallabi, and Captain Janies Croford, and the following report was made by them :—“ We, the undersigned, at the request of Captain James Taylor, have this day held a survey on the brig Silver Lining, of Sydney,, No. 64,435, and find that tbs vessel was last from Lyttelton, with a cargo of coal for Kakanni, part of which was discharged on and before Saturday, the 7th of March, when she was obliged to put to sea on account of the weather, and, in returning to the anchorage this day, got on a rock, where she now lies H down and fifteen Wo find that the rr ' amidships, and that eight feet of water in her 1 uand rising fast. There is also about 130 tons of coal on board. The vessel is sufficiently found with anchors, cables, and gear. As there is every probability of her sinking and breaking up, the stempost and rudder being now gone, and the mainmast nsmg and heaving with the sea, and heaving of the vessel, we recommend that she be abandoned and sold for the benefit of whom it may concern.
