PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given, thai the assessment of all buildings, lands tenements, and hereditaments within thi City of Dunedin (as authorised by th< Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865, and the Otago Municipal Corpora tions Ordnance Amendment Ordinance 1872) for the year ending December 31st 1874, according to the full, fair, and csti mated annual rent at which the same reasonably be expected to let from year°ti year, free of all usual tenant’s rates anc taxes, and deducting therefrom the probabh average annual cost of the repairs, insurance, and other expenses (if any) necessary tc maintain the same in a state to command such rent has been duly made. Notice is further given that the said assess, ment having, on the fourth day of March 18/4, been allowed by the Council of the said City, is now deposited, and may be duly in spected at the Town Clerk’s Office, in Mansi street, in the said City, between the hours ol 10 a m. and 4 p.m., by any person interested therein. And notice is further given that any ap. peals against the said assessment may bf lodged at the City Council Chambers, Mansi street (where blank forms may be had) or or before the 24th day of March instant also, that a copy of each notice of appeal i< reqmredby law to be served not later than the 24th instant upon any person whose name ic may be proposed to insert in the assessment, or whose property it may be alleged has been omitted therefrom, or as< sensed below its full, fair, and annual value. TENDERS will be received at the Town Clerk’s Office, Manse street, on or before Wednesday, Bth April, 1874. at 4 p.m. for the whole or any portion of (L 10.000) Ten Thousand Pounds, value of Corporation Bonds. The Bonds are issuable under the authority and provisions of the “Otago Municipal Corporation Ordinance, 1865 ; 5 bear interest at the rate of G per centum per annum, payable half-yearly, at the option of any purchaser either in London, Melbourne, or Dunedin, and are secured on the City Rates.
