MR. ISAAC IN EXPLANATION.
To the Editor, Sir, —The ‘Daily Times’ of this morning states I was called for last evening at the declaration of the poll, and “ did not appear; there were loud cries for ‘Bob’ notwithstanding.' 1 It might be annoying to the ‘ Daily Times ’ that the propnesy in their leader the day before was not true, and that their pet candidate, Mr Cargill, was not returned. I think your readers will believe that, even presuming a crowd of. people called out my name, “ Bob,” it is lowering the dignity of the' (supposed) leading paper to report every coarse word that emanates from such a source.—l am, 4c ~ Barnard Isaac.
