THE CUP MATCHES. Only one of the two Cup matches arranged for Saturday came off. On the D.C.C. ground only the bankers put in an appearance, and they consequently claim the game. The Tradesmen v. Warehousemen match was continued on the other ground, the former, who had obtained ten runs with the loss of one wicket on the previous Saturday, continuing their innings, which closed for 53. Shepherd, who was foolishly run out, was the only one who got into double figures, h(being credited with a dozen. The Warehousemen required to get 46 to win, which they did, with the loss of six wickets. Rhodes played a capital innings for 20, and lost bis wicket through ever anxhtyjto run up the required number. The result would have been different if the Tradesmen had fielded at ail decently at the crit : cM period of the game. Two wickets were lost to them at that time by most culpable muddling.
