THE VOLUNTEERS.
SELECTION OF COLONIAL REPRESENTATIVES. _I he Northern Volunteers of Canterbury, who qualified.in the fiist stage-of' the competition for the selection of Provincial Representatives at the forthcoming Colonial prize meeting, fired through the'second stage on Tuesday, the 27 th inst., on/the rifle range at Woodend. The weather was bright, but a rather annoying wind from the south-west prevailed during the first three ranges, and changed to the south-east soon after’-tke .J^ n B/, at . yards had commenced. The following, were the.scores made
Seeing that 112 was the highest possible score that could be. made, Cameron’s total must be accounted a very creditable one indeed, and it.shows him to-be- ineomsthing like his old form. He has previously represeated .the Province at: the Colonial firing, gave a good acpount of himself, and it is a matter for congratulation to find that he stands so well on the list for becom mg a representative-'this year. Perrin’s total is also a.commendable one.
