A. R. H AY IMPORTER, PRINCES STREET. A successful season has enabled A. R. H. to Re-mark the whole of the Stock that it is desirable to clear previous to the close of the Summer Trade, The Reduced Prices in the several departments are not confined to faded or indifferent goods, but the remains of This Season’s Purchases. . Stock-taking approaching, it has been determined to clear these Goods at Greater Reductions than hitherto attempted. For instance, the MILLINERY DEPARTMENT contains some very pretty styles in Bonnets and Hats at less than half the original prices—7 s. fid, 8s 6d, 9s 6d, 10s fid, &c. Newly-trimmed Hats, 5s 6d, 6s 6d, 7s fid, 8a 6d, 9s fid, &c. Fashionable styles, and cheaper than ever before seen in Dunedin. The whole of the Dress Stock has also undergone Large Reductions. 12 yards of first-rate Fancy Dress Material, in twenty-four varieties, at 8s 6d. 12 yards of Reversible Challie—checks, stripes, and spots—in many colors, 10s 6d. 12 yards of very superior Fancy Dress, cloth-wide and both sides alike, new colorings, remarkably cheap, 15s ; worth 27s 6d. JACKETS, CAPES, &e. These Goods, at their Reduced Prices, should command early inspection, for they are really very cheap; and amongst the variety are some beautiful specimens of imported patterns of very rich design in Silk Velvet and the Improved Persian Cord, firmer and heavier than the best French Merino and, of greater durability. The Velveteen Jackets are also cheap, reduced to 8s fid, 9s fid, 10s fid, &c. The Silk Department has increased during the last six months to a. very important branch of the business. Having imported direct from C. M. Teillard et Cie, Lyons, and Belmont, Freres, et Cie, Lyons, no further comment as to the genuineness of their several makes is necessary. No mixture of any kind is allowed by them. The pure silk only is woven, and each piece has its respective name and address worked on the end of every length. Full confidence may, therefore, be bad in regard to the Silk Department at A. R. HAY’S. The Stock is very large and richly assorted. The prices will be pronounced by competent judges to be lower than many houses in a larger trade; Black Silk Dresses, 12 yards, 555, full width. Teillard’s best, One Guinea per yard. Colored Silks, magnificent variety, from Three Guineas. A Large Lot of Remnants from the different Departments, marked half-price. A. R. HAY, PRINCES STREET.
