THE VOLUNTEERS.
The Wakari Rangers were the first to open the New Year’s shooting by firing yesterday for their Company’s belt and annual prizes, amounting to L 5. The belt was again won by Lieut. Marshall, with a score of 47, as against 46 last year. There were twenty-one competitors, and the following is the list of prize takers.—
The Recruits’ Prize was won by Yol. Jones, with a score of 34 points. THE COLONIAL PRIZE FIRING. The Waikouaiti Volunteers fired for choice of representatives on the 29th ult., under the charge of Lieut. Wm, Murcott, Hampden Rifles, when the following scores were made:—
