The following are the events which took place after we went to press yesterday : Bagpipe Music, consisting of pibrochs, marches, strathspeys, and reels. —First prize, L 8 ; second, L 3 ; third, L2 (continued from previous day). Quoiting (continued from the previous day). -—First prize, L 5; second, L2. M’Rory, 21. Ist; Cramond, 16, 2nd. The contest was a very close one, " the competitors being at one time 9 each, and at another 11 and 12. Reel of Tuli.och, in Highland Costume.— First prize, L 3; second, LI 10s; third, 10s. J. Murray took the first prize, H., Brown the second, and R. Brown the third. Wrestling, Cornish and Devonshire style.— First prize, L 3; second, L2; third, LI; and 10s given to standards. G. Robertson, the half-caste, threw Fotheringill. Robertson then competed with Hoare, who threw him last year. After they had wrestled for about an hour-and-a-half without any throw, Robertson and Hoare divided the first and second prizes, Fotheringill taking the third prize. Vaulting with the Pole.—First prize, L 4; second, L2; third, LI. D. Auld, 9ft 2in, 1; Muirhead, Bft llin, 2 ; Murdoch, Bft 6in, 3. Handicap Walking Race, one mile. —First prize, L 3; second, L2; third, LI. Maegregor, 1; J. Campbell, 2; D. Spence. 3. Spence came in second, but was disqualified for not walking, as alleged, fairly. Grand Challenge Dance for Youths of 16 and under.—Each competitor to choose his own dance. First prize, LI: second, 10s : third, 10s. J. Murray, 1; W. Allen, A. Allen, and Caldwell, equal. The judges therefore determined to give a fourth prize, thus giving three prizes to bo divided between the three last-named competitor?. Half-mile Handicap Race.—First prize, L 6; second, L 3; third, LI. Westland, 1 ; J. Burke and E. Hogg ran a dead heat for second place, therefore dividing the second and third prizes. Single Stick.— First prize, L 3 ; second, Ll 10s; third, 10s. Glover, I; Whyte, 2; G. Falgar, 3. Youths’ Handicap Walking Race.— First prize, Ll; second, 10s.; third, ss. Campbell (scratch), 1; Scott (25yds), 1; Humphreys (60yds), 3; M'Lellan (40yds). The oompetitors, by mistake, were stopped walking before the last lap was completed. Young Scott came in first after a good spurt, and the judges decided to give Scott and Campbell each a first prize, as Campbell walked the last lap and claimed the first prize. Running Hop, Step, and Jump. -First prize, L2 ; second, Ll; third, 10s. D. M'Master, 3Bft 4in, 2; Auld, 36ft Sin, 3. Irish Jig. —First prize, L 3; second Ll 10s: third, 10s. ,Haig and Hannagan, being considered equal, divided the prizes. Consolation Handicap. Hogg (4 yards), first; J. Collins (14 yards)* second; T. W. Le Fevre (scratch), third. The takings at the Caledonian Society’s Gatherings this year amounted to L 375, ns against L 426 14s 7d, the sum realised at the last meeting. At the gates on the first day L 303 was taken,. while on the first day of the previous year the takings were only L 147. At the conclusion of the games last evening the various booth-holders proposed to the directors that, in consequence of the great success of the gathering, a third day’s sports should be held. To this the directors assented, and it was agreed that the sum taken at the gates should be handed over to the Benevolent Institution. >'he sports were hold this afternoon, but at too late an hour to admit of publication.
