The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on yoods cleared for consumption this day, was L 895 12s Messrs M'Landress, Hepburn, and Co. submitted to auction, at noon to-day, on behalf of the importers, Messrs W. and G. Turnbull and Co., the cargo of sugars just landed ex the Medora from Mauritius. The trade was well represented, as is invariably the rule at such sales, but the bidding was anything but spirited. Fourteen lines were auctioned, but only five sold. Finest snowdrop crystals fetched L3B; finest yellow crystals, L 34 ; fine do do, one lot L 33 10s, one 1.34 ; good do do, L 33 15s and L 34 10s respectively. Tho rest was withdrawn.

Mei/bothixe, December 24.—Business is not very brisk. Breadstuffs very firm, and in good trade demand. Flour, Ll3 15s to Ll3 17s 6d ; wheat, much wanted, at 5s 8d to 5s lOd ; oats are very saleable at 4s 8d to 4s 9d, for fair samples. Hennessy’s pale brandy, 9s 3d. Sugars are in good request and command full rates. The latest Mauritius dates, to November 7, report the Faroinghara loading for New Zealand. Whites are quoted at 7dol 35c ; yellows, 6dol 85c. Salt, coarse and fine, has advanced to L 6. There is a better demand for bottled beers. The Daunted’s teas sold at from 9d to Is 6d in a large line.
