Wellington, November 28. Mr Vernon Eastwood's and Mr Wither’s runs, adjoining Blenheim, containing 35,000 acres of freehold, and 1,400 leasehold, with 28,000 sheep, have been sold to Mr Charles Redwood for L 65,100. November 27. It is probable that the Provincial Council will again be called together soon, in order to pass a Bill authorising the expenditure of L 50,000. A subscription list has been opened for the benefit of the family of the late Captain Rouse. Judge Chapman goes to Dunedin by the Ladybird to-day. All the Helen Denny’s immigrants, excepting six families, have been engaged. Auckland, iNovember 26. The Standard insurance Company have issued a prospectus at Auckland. Mr Binney is tho agent. The teetotallers have purchased the Albert Hall, and they celebrated the event by an opening soiree. The Union Sash and Door Company have bought the Aratajm sawmills. Napier, November 26. The sittings of tho Court at Poverty Bay passed oil satis actorily. Coal has been found on Mr Chambers’s ran, fifteen miles inland from Napier. November 27. Mr Sealey, Resident Magistrate and Crown Lands Commissioner, has announced his intention of instituting an action for libel against the Telegraph for an attack by that paper on him in his latter capacity. The Rev. John Campbell, late rector of the High School, Christchurch, is appointed to the head-inaatorship of the Napier Boys' Trust School. Another tannery is about to be established. Currying and japanning will also be carried out. , New Plymouth, November 26. Tke Iron band Works are progressing. Nelson, November 26. The Nelson Exhibition was opened to-day. There were large crowds from all parts of the Province. A procession marched up to the Provincial Hall, which consisted of Mr Broad, Vice-President ; Sir David Monro, his Honor Judgu Richmond, members of both Houses, the clergy of all denominations, and members of the Exhibition Committee. The Artillery Baud played the National Anthem. 6ir David Monro delivered the inaugural address. The Exhibition is a great success. The show of pictures and fine arts is said to be unequalled in New Zealand, There is also a creditable display of local manufactures, All kinds of minerals of the Province are on view, including gold, silver, copper, iron, coal, marble, limestone, and flagging stone. The Exhibition will remain open for four days. November 27. The Exhibition is a splendid success. Notwithstanding the bad weather, 3,000 persons were present. Judge Richmond delivered an interesting impromptu address, on being reminded this was the centenary of Captain Cook’s second departure from New Zealand,. The exhibits, especially of local manlacture, are generally admired. Reetton, November 26. Mr Curtis addressed a large meeting at Reef ton last night. A vote of confidence was carried by 63 to 40 votes. Christchurch, November 26. His Excellency tho Governor starts overland for Hokitika on Monday or Tuesday next, returning to Christchurch in about eight days. _____
