WASTE LAND BOARD.
The following is the remainder of the business transacted at the sitting of the Board yesterday : Mr Archibald Valentine applied for a seven years’ license for a quarry reserve in block 5, Hawksbury. Mr Stewart appeared in support of the application, which was referred to the District Engineer to report on. Mr Ho worth, for the trustees of Mr Gow, applied for permission to purchase SO acres on run 028. Referred to the Warden to report on. Mr Prentice, District Surveyor, Balclutha, requested four months’ extension of time to survey applications in his distiict. Granted. Mr Sampson Urea applied to purchase four acres of block 2, Teviot, on which his house stands. The runholder’s consent to lie obtained, and the Distiict Laud Officer to report. Valuation for improvements on sections occupied in Tapanui were allowed to those that had substantial dwelling-houses built of boards, brick, or stone on them. Messrs Maitland Bros, applied for pre-emp-tive right on Stuart’s Hundred. Mr (Ellies appeared in support of the application, which was granted. The following exchanges of leases were approved Mr. W. MT ver. sections 1, 2 and 3, block 1, Windon ; Mr ,T. H. Davidson, sections 11, 28, and ID, do ; Mr J. Paterson, section 12, do ; Mr A. Matthew, section 13, do. MrCnrew, District band Officer, reported that he knew of no objection to the application of Mr Walter Miller for lot) acres of block 10, Hidend. To Ik- surveyed with a view to its being put for sale as land of special value. Mr dames Sutherland’s renewed application far 100 acres of block 0, Tabic Hill, was again refused.
