The topsail schooner Zior, from Mahurangi, arrived last night, and passed up to Dunedin. The coasters Jane Hannah, for Gatlin’s River, and ketch Flying Squirrel, for Waikava came down from Dunedin this morning. The steamers Wellington, for Northern Ports Maori, for Lyttelton and intermediate ports,’ and Pretty Jane, for the Molyneux, sail tills cvcntncf. The p.s. Samson left the old jetty at 8.20 a.m. for her usual trip to Oamaru. She will return early to-morrow, and leave again tomorrow evening with visitors for the Oamariv Sh One family, named Cotterill, five in number, were released from the Quarantine Island this morning. The three patients on the Island are progressing favorably. There will bo one more family liberated to-morrow. The S.W. wind which prevailed this morning enabled the German barque ; Nicoline, for Newcastle, to sail out; likewise the Pioneer, for Shag Point. There was no arrivals this morning, and no signs of any of the Home vessels now due, which make the port very dull as far as the shipping is concerned. Early this morning the p.s. Golden Age transhipped 70 bales of wool which arrived by the train for the ship Peter Denny, which is now loading in the stream. Upon the arrival of the 7.J0 tiain the p.s. Samson took on board a number of passengers who arrived by the train, and left for Oamam at 8.20 a.m. Messrs Jackson Bros, were busy this morning in removing from their workshops to the railway jetty, for transmission to Dunedin, the two boats built to the order of Mr Francis Tubman, of the Teviot., They are of the following dimensions Length, 30ft. 6in.; beam, 7ft. 6in.; depth, 3ft. 4in.; and will carry about 8 tons each. The barque Cesarewitch will finish ballasting to-day, and haul out in the stream to-morrow. Her destination is not known. The barque Lady Agnes commenced to discharge this morning, and her cargo is being delivered in good order. The Rokeby Hall will finish discharging to-day, the ship May Queen being the only other vessel discharging at the pier; and the only vessel discharging in the bay is the ship Lady Jocelyn ; the p. s. Golden Age being engaged in conjunction with the lighters to convey the cargo to Dunedin. The ship Wild Duck was towed to sea by the tug Geelong , this forenoon, The repairs to the s.s. Lady of the Lake are nearly completed, she having received two coats of paint on her bottom, and will be taken out of dock with the schooner Oreti to-morrow afternoon.
