Passengers: i i and Mrs Storonach and son, Messrs Knott, Crawford, O’Brian, Money, Henderson ; and live in the steerage. Wanganui, 179 tons, Fraser, from the Bluff. The p.s. Samson arrived at 4.45 p.m. on Saturday from Oauiaru. The s.s. Wallabi passed through from Dunedin for the Bluff on Saturday afternoon. The ship Bebington, for the Bluff, was towed to sea by the tug Geelong on Saturday s.s. Wanganui, from the Bluff, arrived at 11.30 a.m. yesterday, and passed up to Dunedin. Passengers ; Mr and Mrs &dchols and two children, Mr and Mrs M Leod, Mrs Matthews, Mrs Rock, Miss L. Bailie, Messrs R. Hamilton, Thrush, Gibbs, Tayler, I’ ox ; and four in the steerage. The Harbor Company’s s.s. Maori, from Lyttelton and intermediate ports, arrived at o.dU a.m. yesterday, and steamed alongside the ship Peter Denny to discharge sixty bales of wool, reports leaving Lyttelton at 7.30 p.m. on the 14th, arrived at Timaru at a.m. on the 15th, left again at 6 p.m., and arrived at Camara at 11.20 p.m.; left again at d.oO a.m. on the 16th, and arrived as above. Captain J. H. Blcthen, well known as the commander of the San Francisco steamer Nevada, is one of the two persons nominated for the office of harbormaster of San I rancisco and is stated by the newspapers of that city to bo eminently qualified for that position. The N.Z.H.N. Companys s.s. Wellington, from Northern Ports, arrived at 2 p.m. yesterday, and moored alongside the railway pier. Her passengers and mails were conveyed to Dunedin by the 3.15 train. ( aptain Carey rejiorts leaving the Manukau at 4 p.m. on the 10th; arrived at Taranaki at 4 a.m. on the 11th ; left again at 7 a,m. same day ; arrived at Nelson at 0.45 a. in. on the 12th ; left again at 1.13 p.m.; arrived at Pieton atO.oOp.m.; left again at 11.55 p.m.; arrived at We lihgtou at i a.m. on the 13th; left again at 4.20 p.m., and arrived at Lyttelton at noon on the lltli ; waited there for excursionists until 7 p.m. on the 15th; then sailed for Port Chalmers, and arrived as above.
