London, October 28. Colonel Wolscley has requested thcFantees to co-operate with the British forces against the Ashantecs. His appeal has not yet produced any great effect; it is believed that the Ashanteos have retired to Coomassie. The Colonel has addressed a proclamation to the King. Prince Bismarck has been re-appointed Premier. Great excitement prevails in Paris, owing to the intrigues of the Legitimist faction for the restoration of the monarchy. Pears are entertained that a great crisis is approaching. The Grand Opera House in the line Lepel letier has been destroyed by fire. It is suspected that it was an act of incendiarism. Large consignment of Chile flour are coming forward. Obituary.—Johannes 1., King of Saxony. Born December 12th, 1801. He was the second son of Duke Maximilian of Saxony and of Princess Caroline of Parma. Sir Henry Holland, author of “Medical Notes and Reflections,” Physician in Ordinary to Her Majesty the Queen, in his 85th year.
