Sir, —As Mr Alexander Willis lias entered a protest against the sewers intended to be constructed by the Council, and states that the plan proposed to be carried out is “a most wasteful and useless expenditure of the public money,” perhaps he will favor the citizens, on whose behalf he protests, with his views on this all-impoitant subject. Being absent in Christchurch when the matter was discussed in the Council or Works Committee, I had not an opportunity of giving the matter due consideration ; for on moving in the Council—when the subject came up through the Public Works for confirmation—that it should be postponed for further inquiry, my motion was lost,—l am, &c., E. Prosskr. Dunedin, November 13.
