The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house ou goods cleared for consumption this day, was L 397 7s fid, . We learn that the shaves in the Walton I ark Colliery Company are being rapidly applied for. In all probability the list will be completed in the early part of the week. General business has been very active during the week, in consequence of heavy orders having been received from the interior. The first gale of new season’s teas was advertised for Tuesday last at the rooms of Messrs M‘Landless, Hepburn, and Co. The trade, however, evidently had not made np their minds as to their quality, as only one small lot was placed. Sugar has been in good demand at previous rates. The supply of candles is running short, and buyers are readily found at 11 jd. Devoe s kerosene commands Is 10Ad, and diamond Is 9.‘d. Dried fruits continue in f,ood demand ; currants find ready purchasers at 4hi; Eleme raisns, fid; and Sultanas 7d per lb. Inspirits, Geneva J.D.K.Z., commands 14s ; Henessey’s brandy, 9s fid, in bulk, and 32s fid case. Good samples of cheese are sought after, and realise Bjd to 9d per lb 5 while fair qualities are purchasable at 7LI. Hams and bacon are saleable at full prices. In drysalteries a few slight changes have taken place. Coleman’s starch, white or blue, may be quoted at 425. Oilman’s stores are in fuller supply. Morton’s pickles can be placed at 10s ; salad oils, 10s 9d for pints and fis fid for half-pints ; castor oil, 9s fid for pints and 5s fid half pints. Sardines realise 12s fid for halves and 7s fid for quarter tins. In salt, 95s is asked for shipments in the Bay. To-day Messrs Driver, Stewart, and ( 0. submitted to public competition freehold allotments of from 25 poles to half-an-acre each, situated in the township of Kcw. The attendance was fair, but, with the exception of a few of the more eligibly-situated sections, the bidding was not by any means spirited. A few of the sections were withdrawn at prices not considered satisfactory by the vendors. The prices realised were —for sections situated on main lines of road, from L4O to LfiO ; others from L 27 to L4O. Six allotments adjoining the property of Mr H. Flour is weakening, for although no change is quoted in price, still it is known that outside transactions have taken place at reduced figures. There is ample stock to carry on till next harvest. Wheat, 4s 9d. Oats, 4s 3d. Barley, nominal, fis 9d. Flour, f.o.b. Lyttelton, sack bags, Ll2 10s. Sharps, L 4 10s to L 3. Butter, easier, 7d. Cheese, 7d to 7LI.
