Malicious Injury to Property. -Mr Haggitt said he had no further evidence to offtr in the case against George Wallace, for maliciously destroying a dwelling-house and farm at CornhiJi,—His Worship thought the charge of removing the scullery was not sustained, as there Mas no evidence that it was not attached to the freehold. With regard to the partition in the kitchen, there was no evidence that it was removed, although there was evidence that it was attached to the property. — Case dismissed. CIVIL CASE. Denar v. Wallace, —A claini for L2OO, for the alleged malicious destruction or a fence at Cornhill farm. Half-way Bush. The following additional evidence was given: Douglas G. Ingram, a duly authorised surveyor, cross-examined by Mr Harris ; I do not produce the record plan from the Survey Offce, nor the Crown grants of the prop?rty referred to. To his Worship : He knew the sections in question, having on the IGth and 17th inst. surveyed all the portion of the land referred to. ( \ plan was produced anil witness showed to his Worship the result of the survey.)—Mr Harris asked for a reasonable adjournment, in order to have a proper survey made, and to produce necessary evidence. He proposed asking for an adjournment till Thursday, as the surveyor could not go out till Tuesday, and it M’opld take tliat and the following day to have the sgtr vey made.—Mf Haggitt opposed fhe adjournment. —His Worship thought, under the circumstances, defendant M'as entitled to an adjournment.—Case adjourned till Thursday. V ew potatoes are already being sold in Auckland. The Nelson Government have a sj'stem to encourage the leasing of land in Nelson Province for agricultural purposes. Provision is made in th« leasing regulations that the payment of all rent shall go towards the purchase of the freehold of the land occupied,
