TSK&ERB. MIDDLE ISLAND STEAM SERVICE. General Post Office, Wellington, 15th October, 1873. SEALED TENDERS willbe received at the General Post Office, Wellington, until Saturday, the Ist November next, for the performance dnring a period of twelve months, of either the undermentioned Steam Services, connecting the East and West Coasts of the Middle Island. 1. A steamer to leave Dunedin once in every mouth, proceeding to the West Coast of the Middle Island by way of Cook and Foveaux Straits, alternately. The steamer to call at Lyttelton, Picton, Nelson, Westport, Grey mouth, Hokitika, and the Bluff. 2. To leave Dunedin once every fortnight, tha steamer proceeding to the West Coast by the North and South routes, alternately, calling at the ports previously named; or 3, To leave Dunedin and Nelson every alternate fortnight. The steamer from Dunedin proceeding to the West Coast via Foveaux Straits, and returning via Cook Straits; and the steamer from Nelson proceeding direct to the West Coast, and returning via Foveaux and Cook Straits. Both steamers to call at the ports specified above. It will be a condition of the service that the steamers, when required, shall call at, or off, the following places, viz.:— Oamaru, Timarn, Martin’s Bay, Milford Sound, and Preserva tion Inlet, and Port William and Half Moon Bay in Stewart’s Island, and at such other places as the Government may from time to time direct. Tenderers shall state the names, tonnage, and horse-power of the vessels proposed to be employed in the service. WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at this office, up to noon on Wednesday, 29th October, 1873, for the construction of the Paki-Paki, Waipaioa, and Waipukurau Contracts of the above Railway—in all about 27 miles. They must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister of Public Works, Wellington, and marked outside “ Tender———Contract (the name being filled in). Flans and Specifications may be seen at this office, on and after 'Thursday, 25th inst., and at the Public Works Office, Napier, about a week later. Telegraphic Tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received, if presented at any Telegraph Office by Noon of the same date, provided that written tenders in due form are lodged at a District Engineer’s Office by the same hour. Public Works Office, WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at this Office up to Noon on Wednesday, October 29, 1873, for the construction of the “Temuka Contract” of the above Railway, being about three miles and fourteen chains, and including the Opihi, Temuka, and other bridges. They must be addressed to the Hon. Minister for Public Works. Wellington, and marked outside “ Tender Temuka Contract.” Plans and specifications may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Christchurch and Wellington. Telegraphic Tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any Telegraph Office by Noon of the same date provided that written Tenders in due form are lodged at a District Engineer’s Office, by the same hour.
