The cutter Jane, now in Jacksons floating dock, has received a new keel. As soon as she comes out the s.s. Result will be taken in. The barque Hazel Holme, with part cargo for Auckland, brig Derwent for Moeraki, and schooner Melaine for Laipara, sailed out tins Clutha, which is intended to be moored at the Timaru Bank, is completed. The glass casement and lamp wore fitted on board yesterday afternoon. The repairs to the ship Wild Duck, now in the Graving Dock, are progressing very fast, the old copper being nearly stripped off. -there are over twenty shipwrights at work. The p.s. Samson, from Oamaru, arrived at o pm. yesterday, and steamed alongside the shin Peter Denny to discharge a quantity of meats, wool, and tallow. _ She then coaled and passed up to Dunedin this morning. The twin-screw steamer Result, which has been laid up during the winter, has been purchased bv Captain Denscm, and was brought down from Dunedin for the purpose of going into Jackson’s floating dock, where she will receive a thorough overhaul, both in hull and machinery.
