DRAINAGE OF THE CITY.
To the Editor. P TR> —So important is the question of drainage, alluded to by your correspondent “ F,” in your issue of the Bth inst., that I feel' I need offer no apology for troubling you with a few lines. Surely, sir, as it is not unlikely great improvements will be made in the harbor, in consequence of the agitation now taking place, it would not be asking the Council too much to delay proceeding with the construction of the proposed four drains until they see what is being done in this direction. The good the drain will do is so ■mall, and the importance of the subject so great, that I feel sure no harm will result from delay. Ought not a deputation to wait on the Mayor and Conncil, or would a public meeting to discuss the subject bo better? I am, Ac., „ CIT ZEN. Dunedin, October 13.
