Samson sailed at 9 a.m. to-day for Oamaru. , The Lloyd’s Herald, for Gatlin’s nvcr, sailed this morning. , The barque Woodrille, for Newcastle, sails this evening. The barque Margarita sails to-morrow with the Lyttelton portion of her cargo. The brig Thomas and Henry was removed to the old jetty yesterday, to take in ballast. The Harbor Company’s twin screw steamer Pretty Jane arrived last evening from the Alhambra, for Melbourne, via the Bluff, left the railway pier at 3.30 p.m. yesterschooners Defiance and Pioneer came down from Dunedin, and sail for Moeraki this evening. , ~ There is no appearance of any Home ships, bat the Dover Castle, 95 days out, and the Eokeby Hall, 97 days out, are hourly expected. The ship Wild Duck has discharged over 300 tons of cargo. As soon as the discharging is finished, she will go in the graving dock for further survey. , The ships Allahabad and Peter Denny have finished discharging all the cargo for the railway pier. The remainder will be put into lighters. . L , . .. The s.s. Wanganui goes into the floating deck to be cleaned and painted, after which she will probably take the southern trade m place of the Stombird, which leaves for Wellington and Wanganui this evening. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. LYTTELTON, October 2.—Arrived, Tasso and Formosa, from Newcastle. The p.s. Paterson sails for the South at seven this evening. Wellington, October 2.—The wreck of the brig Australia at Cape Campbell has broken up and come ashore. There was very heavy weather on the coast at the tune, which broke up the boatshed and boats at Flaxbourne, and buried miles of fencing. Akaroa, Oct. 3,10.40 a.m.—Arrived, Beautiful Star, 5.8., from Timaru. She cannot proceed to Lyttelton until the weather moderates. The Paterson, p.s., from Lyttelton to Dunedin, put in for shelter.
